Officer-involved shooting fatalities identified
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Riverside County authorities Wednesday released the names of two men killed last month in a pair of unrelated officer-involved shootings.

Donald Gibbs, 52, of Desert Hot Springs was allegedly beating a woman and threatening to stab her when he was confronted by sheriff’s deputies. Gibbs was shot when he refused to drop a knife. The incident occurred March 19th in the tiny community of Desert Edge.

Edward Manning, 26, who was described as a ‘suspicious person’ was slain March 4th in Cabazon. Manning ran across Interstate 10 near the Desert Hills Outlet stores where he was confronted by deputies.

There have been four, fatal officer-involved shootings involving the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department so far this year.
