Traffic death toll soars, worst weekend of the year
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – At least 13 persons were killed in weekend traffic mishaps around the Inland Empire.

The toll included nine fatalities in San Bernardino County – the most for any weekend since last October.

Among the victims were an Adelanto mother and three children who lost their lives in a head-on crash. Mercedez Breda, 33, was passing two vehicles when she sideswiped one of them sending her car across the center line and into the path of an oncoming SUV.

Two motorcyclists also died. And in Riverside, a pedestrian became the third killed in recent days in that city.
