Grass fire destroys Riverside home
RIVERSIDE - (INT) - There are growing indications of a dangerous wildfire season ahead.

The first home consumed by a brushfire this year left a Riverside couple homeless.

Saturday's 3-alarm blaze raced across 16-acres of dry weeds on Gaylord Street before it could be stopped.

It took 74 firefighters 2-hours to control the flames. The Riverside Fire Department had not determined the cause as of Saturday night.

The fire was the latest in a series that began about 2-weeks ago.

Fields, hillsides and vacant lots are choked with weeds that have dried out since the rainy season ended several weeks ago.
