Environmental studies focus on Mid-County Parkway
CORONA--Public meetings open Tuesday evening on the proposed billion dollar Mid-County Parkway.
It would connect Corona with San Jacinto for a distance of 32 miles. Environmental studies are complete and public input is being sought. Project Manager Cathy Bechtel at the Riverside County Transportation Commission says the preferred alignment requires the removal of 270 homes in Perris and Mead Valley. But, the parkway’s exact route has not been decided. “A final decision is about a year away. That’s when we would know which alignment is approved and which properties would be impacted.” Construction would be in stages and won’t start until 2012 at the earliest. Public meetings on the EIR open Tuesday evening at the Eagle Glen Golf Course in Corona. Written comments must be submitted by December 8th. Story Date: September 2, 2010
