Indoor pot farm raided, owner arrested
VICTORVILLE - (INT) – A marijuana eradication team counted more than 1,100 pot plants that had taken over the inside of a home where they were being cultivated.

Several pounds of processed marijuana were found inside the residence on Domingo Street when lawmen showed up with a search warrant. The cultivation used advanced lighting, air conditioning, fans, exhaust blowers and an air-filtering system to control the climate inside the house as well as the odor coming from the residence.

A Victorville man, Shi X Yu, 36, who apparently lived there, had ‘stolen’ $80,000 worth of electricity to facilitate the pot growing operation.

Investigators said the indoor pot farm appears to have been in place for several years, possibly since 2014.

The residence was “red tagged” by the City of Victorville.

Yu was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for cultivation of marijuana and theft of utilities.
