ONTARIO – (INT) – Airline passenger traffic at Ontario International Airport is soaring higher.

Passenger volume during April rose 4.3 percent and 6.4 percent so far this year. International passengers showed the fastest increase.

After years of decline that accompanied the recession, the numbers began to rise in 2016 for a total of 1,367,688 the first four months of this year.

Air cargo freight handled at the regional airport increased 12.2 percent to 186,046 tons this year over the same period in 2016.
