More fliers find friendly skies at ONT
ONTARIO – (INT) – Ontario International Airport (ONT) appears headed for friendlier skies after years of declining passenger volume.

The number of fliers using the local airport has steadily increased this year, but still hasn’t reached pre-recession levels. It’s up 6.3 percent compared to the first five months of last year. Passenger volume for May rose 7.3 percent.

Passengers flying between Ontario and Mexico soared by 16.6% compared to the same time frame in 2016.

The amount of air cargo handled at ONT is also taking off. More than a quarter-of-a-million tons of freight passed through the airport the first five months of this year for an increase of 14.6 percent when compared to the same period in 2016.
