Lake Silverwood algae blooms sprayed
LAKE SILVERWOOD - (INT) – No swimming signs remain as treatment has started to rid the lake of blue-green algae blooms.

Copper sulfate was sprayed by helicopter onto the lake’s surface Friday.

Warning signs have been placed at the beaches urging the public to avoid direct contact with algal blooms wherever they occur.

Silverwood Lake’s bloom was first observed in early July. The State Department of Water Resources said water will be tested again on Tuesday.
