Ranking: Best cities to live in
California has placed a dozen cities on a list of the nation’s 62 best cities to live in. But, only two – San Diego and San Jose – made the top 10.

The personal finance website WalletHub took into consideration a data set of 50 key indicators ranging from quality of public school systems to job opportunities to median annual property taxes.

While big cities epitomize opportunity, economic or otherwise, big-city life requires trade-offs. Higher cost of living is often the chief complaint, followed by pollution, traffic delays and limited square footage.

Riverside ranked 40th and did best in affordability. But, ranked behind San Jose, San Francisco and Los Angeles but better than Anaheim, Santa Ana, Long Beach, Oakland, Bakersfield and Fresno.
