San Bernardino County fires in last stages
INLAND EMPIRE - (INT) - Firefighters have switched their attention to the High Desert where a new wildfire broke out in Lucerne Valley Sunday.

A mandatory evacuation chased a few people from their homes and a stretch of Highway 18 was closed (between Joshua Road and Willow Wells Avenue.

The fire had covered 170 acres at last report.

Two fires that erupted Saturday in the San Bernardino National Forest are being mopped up.

Both burned above Highland in an area where several others have broken out in recent weeks.

One, which was dubbed the Dollar Fire, has covered 85 acres at last report on the back side of Mount Harrison along highway 330.

The other, called the Seine Fire, blackened about 20 acres at Piedmont Drive and Seine Avenue in Highland.

Authorities did not have causes for any of the fires.
