Manpower: Job prospects ‘hopeful’
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Many employers throughout the 2-county region predict job-hiring to be ‘hopeful’ for the last quarter of the year.
Employers surveyed by Manpower, Inc found 20 percent plan to expand their payrolls. That compares to 29 percent for the 4th quarter of 2016. Only 4 percent expect reductions from October-December. Seventy-four percent says they will maintain current staff levels.
Manpower says job prospects appear best in the categories of Durable and Nondurable Goods Manufacturing, Transportation & Utilities, Wholesale & Retail Trade, Financial Activities, Professional & Business Services, Education & Health Services, Leisure & Hospitality, Government and Other Services.
Hiring in Construction and Information is expected to remain unchanged.
