Mega-sized water purification plant in the works CARSON – (INT) – Plans are in the works that could lead to one of the largest water purification plants in the world.
A 500,000-gallon-per-day demonstration facility in Carson opening Monday could be the forerunner for potential future construction of a full-scale recycled water plant. Under a Regional Recycled Water Program, The Metropolitan Water District would purify treated wastewater through various advanced processes to produce a safe, high-quality water source to replenish groundwater basins in Los Angeles and Orange counties. The $17 million demonstration facility is located at 24501 S. Figueroa St Story Date: September 23, 2017
