Summertime home sales hit new stride
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – New and previously lived in homes are now selling at their highest prices in at least ten years.

Over the past 12-months, the median price of a home in San Bernardino County soared by 12.5 percent. In Riverside County, the gain was 7.7 percent. Both counties were above the Southern California average of 7.5 percent.

CoreLogic reported the average home in the Inland Empire sold for $340,000 in August.

Across the Southland, the number sold from June through August was the highest in 11-years. The median sales price of $500,000 was slightly below the record set in July 2007.

More than one-fourth of the transactions in the Inland Empire involved government-insured, low-down-payment FHA loans, the highest share in Southern California.
