County pushes to ban marijuana dispensaries
PERRIS – (INT) – Two men are headed to jail for 5-days for refusing to get the message about illegal marijuana dispensaries.

A judge has granted Riverside County’s request to have a receiver take control of some property near Perris to ensure that a dispensary the men operated remains closed.

County officials have been pushing to close illegal dispensaries. So far, the number shuttered in unincorporated areas stands at 57. Existing ordinances prohibit all dispensaries in the unincorporated areas of Riverside County.

The dispensary near Perris had operated under the name Quality Patient Care Center and, later, Alternative Access Association.

Clinton Verdell Newman and Deshon Teel were ordered to spend five days in county jail on contempt
