Planners debut Ethanac Expressway plan
PERRIS – (INT) – Riverside County transportation planners continue efforts to find a corridor linking Interstate 15 with the I-215. The latest is the Ethanac Expressway.

The proposal would follow Nichols Road at the I-15 eastward along existing Route 74 and then eastward along Ethanac Road through Perris to the I-215.

Planners have not established the number of expressway lanes or identified intersections or other uses.

Meetings seeking public input conclude November 7th in Menifee.

The proposed Ethanac Expressway follows years of planning for the Mid-County Parkway which has floundered in the courts as environmentalists try to derail the project. Planners scrubbed the section linking the I-215 in Perris to the I-15 at Corona. But, the portion connecting Perris with San Jacinto is still on the drawing board. Another appeal was recently filed in state court.

Meantime, California Transportation Secretary Brian Kelly says $228 million has been earmarked for improvements on the I-15 at Corona and Eastvale.
