Riverside seeks to improve services
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – The creation of an Office of Homeless Solutions is part of some restructuring at City Hall.
City Manager John Russo says the changes are aimed at enhancing the City’s focus on innovation, organizational excellence and taxpayer accountability.
The restructuring aligns City departments along three tracks – Administration, People, and Place, each overseen by an Assistant City Manager. Russo says it will make the City more entrepreneurial in its approach to delivering city services to Riverside residents and business owners.]
The changes utilize existing employees and budgets, so there is no fiscal impact.
As to reducing homelessness, the efforts of staff members from several City departments will be concentrated in one office. That office is creating a new website --- www.riversideca.gov/homelesssolutions -- to explain in a more comprehensive way the efforts already underway to assist people who are trying to transition out of homelessness.
