Falling gas prices counter tax increase SOUTHLAND – (INT) – Slowly falling gasoline prices have just about cancelled out the 12-cent-a-gallon tax increase that was imposed on November 1st.
Observers for the Auto Club’s Fuel Gauge Report are watching the decline of wholesale prices and say those could be a good indicator of what’s ahead for Southern California motorists. In Riverside, the average per-gallon price is 8-cents less than last month, but 47-cents more than at this time last year. In San Bernardino, the weekly decline was 4-cents-a-gallon. The Auto Club noted that wholesale gasoline prices are at their lowest levels since early October, which should provide room for further price drops at the pump. Story Date: December 17, 2017
