Brown marks two-year anniversary of Paris climate agreement
PARIS – (INT) – In his keynote address at the One Planet Summit Tuesday, Governor Brown warned “We can’t wait for the White House to wake up.”

Brown is representing the United States along with former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Bloomberg.

“We are standing in place of the American federal government – 'states, cities, private sector players, we're going to play a role ourselves,'" Brown said.

Pointing to California’s nearly year-round fire season – the Governor sounded the alarm on the costly and destructive global impacts ahead unless nations rapidly decarbonize.

Brown also discussed California's upcoming Global Climate Action Summit – which will convene in San Francisco next year with the goal of supporting the Paris Agreement which was approved 2-years ago.
