Children survive vehicle-train collision
A father and his two children escaped serious injuries when their disabled vehicle was struck by a freight train late Tuesday in Riverside. The father was able to remove one of the children. The other in the back seat was briefly trapped. Fire officials estimated the mile-long train was going 35 miles an hour before the impact at the Marlborough Avenue grade crossing. (INT)
