Police2Peace offers new approach to police-community relations
REDLANDS - (INT) - The Redlands Police Department is the first in the nation to add the designation ‘Peace Officer’ to its entire fleet.

The charitable organization Police2Peace set forth the idea in hopes of fostering better relations between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

“As far as we know, this is the first time a community has retroactively added the words ‘Peace Officer’ to their vehicles in this country”, said Lisa Broderick, Executive Director of Police2Peace.

Police Chief Mark Garcia is hoping for a favorable impact on both the community and our officers.

The RPD unveiled the inaugural police cars at a ceremony Thursday.
