Sentencing of mass slaying conspirator delayed
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – The sentencing for Enrique Marquez, Jr., the Riverside man who purchased the weapons used in the 2015 San Bernardino mass killing, has been postponed.

A federal judge in Riverside granted the defense motion Tuesday and reset Marquez’ sentencing for April 30th.

Marquez pleaded guilty to conspiring with a Redlands couple to provide material support to terrorists. He accepted a plea bargain that couple imprison him for the statutory maximum sentence of 25 years to life in federal prison and a $500,000 fine.

The December 2015 shootings at the Inland Regional Center killed 14 people and wounded 23 others.

Defense attorneys have been pouring over additional reports and claimed they needed two more months beyond Marquez’ last sentencing date of February 26th.
