Purchasing managers glowing over inland economy
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Most businesses across Riverside and San Bernardino counties are sharing in the nation’s rosy economy that opened 2018.

The Purchasing Manager’s Index (PMI) posted a dramatic gain during January putting it in positive territory for thirteen consecutive months. Gainers included New Orders and Supplier Deliveries.

“Purchasing Managers are bullish regarding the local economy for the next three months. Over half (54%) forecasted that the local economy will improve in the coming quarter”, said Dr. Barbara Sirotnik, Director of the Institute of Applied Research at Cal State San Bernardino. Forty-two percent felt the local economy would expand at slow and steady rate.

The institute noted that the national economic news is glowing, with the stock market soaring, unemployment at low levels, and the December tax cut resulting in some large companies passing the windfall on to their employees.
