Police step up their game against terrorist threats
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – As shootings escalate, local authorities vow to take terrorist threats seriously.

In Hemet, a student at Diamond Valley Middle School was hauled off to juvenile hall Friday after threatening to bring a weapon to school and use it on another student. Police investigated, but found no weapons. Police thanked a courageous student for speaking up and reminded the public that all threats of violence are taken seriously and are fully investigated.

In Murrieta, a 14-year-old Vista Murrieta High School student has admitted making criminal threats on Snapchat. Murrieta police said the threats came from within the school, but the boy claimed he had no intention of carrying them out. Although no weapons or dangerous devices were found, police said they are taking all threats seriously unless proven otherwise.

In San Bernardino earlier this week, a manager of a business on Victoria Avenue was told by an employee, who was being reprimanded, that he’d return and shoot others. The suspect was later arrested in Corona for making terrorist threats.

In statement Thursday, police said “Given what has occurred across the country, the San Bernardino Police Department does not take threats lightly and will investigate matters of this nature to the furthest extent.”
