New reservoirs demanded as next drought forms
SACRAMENTO – (INT) - Fear is growing that California is on the verge of another drought barely 12-months after the last one ended.

Republican lawmakers are stepping up their call for more reservoirs amid reports that the California Water Commission is blocking the construction of more water storage facilities.

Over 4,000 petitions will be delivered Wednesday to the commission calling for funding for reservoir sites.

Meantime, lawmakers are mulling over new conservation laws that would be in place – drought or not.
