VICTOR VALLEY – (INT) – Illegal marijuana cultivations are getting larger and more numerous.

San Bernardino County authorities have taken down three in the Victor Valley and arrested four caretakers.

The largest on Centola Road yielded some 5,560 marijuana plants. One of the two suspects crawled into an attic space to avoid arrest, but was found by a K-9. Arrested were Zhongcheng Chen, 37, and Shuhong Huang, age 29.

Another 1,850 pot plants were found inside a converted house on Mesa Linda Road in Oak Hills. Jailed were Yafu Fu, 48, and Yufeng Huang, age 47.

A third cultivation raided on Friday revealed over 350 marijuana plants outside a residence on Smoketree Lane at Phelan. The residents had fled before lawmen arrived.
