Fatal gunshot wound caps police chase CORONA – (INT) – A murder suspect who was found dead after a high speed chase from Hesperia to Corona Thursday night died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police chased the stolen pickup truck down the I-15 through Cajon Pass to Eastvale where a pair of spike strips were deployed, but the suspect, Christopher Spotz, 33, of North Hollywood continued into Corona. After exiting the 91 freeway at Green River Drive, Spotz stopped and shot himself with a handgun. An initial investigation determined that the pickup had been involved in a homicide in Los Angeles County, but details were not immediately released. Story Date: March 26, 2018
