Crash ends trip to music festival
BANNING – (INT) – A tragic car crash has ended plans of three young people to attend the Coachella Valley Arts and Music Festival. Two wound up in the hospital and another in the morgue.

According to a California Highway Patrol account, the driver of the speeding BMW drifted onto the shoulder of Interstate 10 west of Hargrave Street. The driver lost control causing the car to careen down an embankment. It crashed into two trees and split in half.

An 18-year-old girl in the back seat was killed. She was identified Friday as Ginevra Gallone-Latte. The driver and another passenger survived. All were from San Diego.

The trio’s food, alcohol and camping gear was scattered about the early Thursday morning crash scene.
