Mother Nature denied stage at Coachella
INDIO - (INT) – Storm clouds are clearing and fierce winds are subsiding in the wake of a fast-moving cold front that threatened to slow the opening of the weekend finale of the Coachella Valley Arts and Music Festival.

The campground will remain closed until early Friday because of fierce winds Thursday and a High Wind Warning.

The weather will brighten up in time for hundreds of bands to take to the stage and the return of headliner Beyonce.

The annual two-weekend fest at the Empire Polo grounds has been sold out for weeks. It features many genres of live music including indie, hip hop, and electronic dance music played at several stages, as well as art installations and sculptures. However, no rock bands are featured this year.

When the lights go out Sunday night, organizers of the Stagecoach festival will jump into action. The country music extravaganza rolls into town for its annual run next weekend.
