Jobless rate continues trending downward
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – More than ever the past 11-years, anyone looking for work in Riverside and San Bernardino counties can find it.

Last month’s jobless rate slipped to 4.1 percent, the lowest in more than a decade. When considered by itself, San Bernardino County’s rate was 3.9 percent in March, the State Employment Development (EDD) reported Friday.

Over the last 12-months, the employment rolls for the two counties expanded by 45,900 jobs for an annual rate increase of 3.2 percent.

Loma Linda led all Inland Empire cities with the lowest unemployment rate of 2.4 percent. Other cities below 3-percent included Canyon Lake, Rancho Mirage and Chino Hills.

The EDD put Riverside’s jobless rate at 3.8 percent, Moreno Valley 4.6 percent and San Bernardino 5.1 percent.

The EDD estimated that 83,500 people were still looking for work last month.
