Riverside accelerates process to find City Manager
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Former interim Riverside city manager Lee McDougal returns to the post Monday in the wake of the recent dismissal of John Russo.

The City Council voted Thursday to open a recruitment process for a permanent city manager focusing on current city employees.

Mayor Pro Tem Chris MacArthur said “all qualified internal candidates” will be considered. He anticipated an appointment by mid-May.

McDougal served as Interim City Manager in Riverside from December, 2014 to May, 2015 prior to Russo’s hiring. McDougal spent much of his career in Montclair, where he was City Manager for 18 years before retiring in 2010.
