Ramona Expressway fatalities mount up
LAKEVIEW – (INT) – The Ramona Expressway linking Perris and San Jacinto may soon be dubbed Slaughter Alley.
Yet another highway fatality has been recorded – the eighth in less than three months.
A Tuesday midnight incident on the expressway just west of Lakeview Avenue claimed the life Felipe Landeros, 52, of Nuevo.
Earlier Monday, one person was killed in a pre-dawn, head-on collision. A pick-up truck and an SUV crashed near 5th Street in Lakeview. The coroner identified the victim as Terrell Moore, 23, of Moreno Valley. The driver who caused the crash, Joaquin Alvaradosantana, 29, of Nuevo was arrested on suspicion of DUI and driving a stolen vehicle.
At least six other people, including two pedestrians, have been killed on the expressway between Lakeview and Perris in the past three months.
