Jobless rates remain at historic lows
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) - The region’s jobless rate remained at an unprecedented 3.7 percent during May which mirrored both the California and nationwide rates.

Employers have added 44,700 jobs in the Inland Empire for an annual growth rate of 3.1 percent.

The State Employment Development Department found that trade, transportation, and utilities recorded the largest employment increase over the year. Gains in transportation and warehousing accounted for over 50 percent of the job increase. Retail trade added 4,500 jobs over the past 12 months.
Seven other employment sectors registered increases.

Among local communities with the highest jobless rates were Adelanto, Muscoy and Cabazon.
