Trial ordered in Perris ‘House of Horrors’ case
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – A Superior Court judge ruled Thursday there is enough evidence to put David and Louise Turpin on trial in a child abuse case that has drawn national attention.

The Turpin’s have denied 49 charges involving their 13 children. To avoid a trial, the Turpin’s could be asked to change their plea on or before their re-arraignment August 3rd.

It’s become known as the ‘House of Horrors’ case in which the couple allegedly held their children ‘capitive’ in the family home at Perris, and earlier in Murrieta, for eight years under the pretense of being ‘home-schooled’.

The couple was arrested in January after their 17-year-old daughter was able to use a deactivated cell phone to call 911. Recordings of her call were played during the Turpin’s preliminary hearing Wednesday.
