PMI declines slightly, local economy still upbeat
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – The region’s red hot economy may be cooling just a tad.

The monthly Purchasing Manager’s Index (PMI) has declined slightly.

Production dipped sharply, but was still in growth mode. Orders are also down and the speed of supplier deliveries is slowing. The all-important employment index was unchanged, but has remained in positive territory for 18 consecutive months.

Ninety-two percent of local purchasing managers surveyed by the Institute of Applied Research at Cal State San Bernardino believe the economy will grow or remain the same in the near future. Only 8 percent say it will weaken.
