Financial solution for California WaterFix
SACRAMENTO - (INT) - The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) has become the major investor in the California WaterFix project.

The MWD will spend $10.8 billion to build two tunnels under the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.

Backers say the project will modernize the state’s badly outdated and increasingly vulnerable water delivery system.

The MWD is providing the additional financing for the full construction of WaterFix.

Metropolitan board Chairman Randy Record of Hemet declared that “California’s water delivery system is broken. After years of study, planning and environmental review, we finally have the solution.”
