Calls for dismissal of gang prosecutor grow louder SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – Civil rights leaders are stepping up their call for the dismissal of Deputy District Attorney Michael Selyem.
Jesse Jackson paid a visit Thursday to DA Mike Ramos to ask that he fire Selyem and told reporters that the gang prosecutor should be disbarred. Selyem is being roundly criticized for calling RepMaxineWaters (D-CA) racist, hateful names & making veiled threats. Jackson said he will follow-up with Ramos in another meeting next week. Selyem is believed to have played a key role in Ramos’ long-running campaign against street gangs in the county. Ramos lost his re-election bid in the June primary and was expected to finish out his term in the coming months. Story Date: July 20, 2018
