INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Roadway incidents in Riverside County have claimed three lives.

In Perris, a bicyclist was struck and fatally injured early Friday while riding across Perris Boulevard near the Ramona Expressway. Raul Sangerman Ortiz, 30, of Perris was the third fatality at or near that intersection this year. The other victims were pedestrians.

In Corona, the coroner has identified an Orange County man killed early Friday on the 91 Freeway. The California Highway Patrol said that Gregory Powell, 42, of Rancho Margarita died on the freeway shoulder just near McKinley Street after falling from an overcrossing.

Hemet police say a pedestrian, Jesse Herrera, 32, was not in a crosswalk between intersections on Menlo Avenue when he was struck and killed Thursday. The motorist remained at the scene. DUI is not suspected. (INT)
