Victims of Freeway 60 crashes identified
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – A pair of weekend incidents about 15-miles apart on Freeway 60 claimed two lives.

A wrong-way driver, a 23-year-old Ontario woman, caused a head-on crash near Market Street in Riverside early Sunday. Initial reports were that a Ford Mustang was westbound in the eastbound lanes when it collided with a van. A passenger in the van, Shanilka Mapatuna, 23, of Moreno Valley, was killed. Both surviving drivers suffered major injuries, the CHP said Monday.

In Ontario about 24-hours earlier, Highway Patrol investigators said a motorist was DUI causing his car to collide with a truck on the Pomona Freeway. The resulting crash early Saturday set the truck on fire killing Veronica Hernandez, 46, of Ontario. Her husband and the suspected DUI motorist, Elvis Tellez, 23, survived with minor injuries.
