5,000 homes get midnight light show
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – Residents of one Arlanza neighborhood got a nighttime light show they won’t forget.

First responders said it seemed that Halloween had arrived early on Sunday. Underground electrical vaults were glowing red producing smoke and lights in the area flickering. Residents reporting their electrical panels producing smoke. One resident said her garage was on fire. There several more reports of attic fires.

Electricity to the area was shut off.

Firefighters traced the trouble to an underground vault in the 6900 Block of Keating Street and immediately doused en electrical fire.

About 5,000 homes and businesses along sixty streets were left in the dark while repairs were made. There was a house-to-house search for fire damage.

There were no injuries found in the 3-alarm incident.
