Attack on prison warden brings extended sentence
A prisoner already serving a 25-year sentence for providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization was sentenced Monday to serve an additional 20-years for trying to kill the warden of the federal prison at Victorville where he was housed. As part of his plea, Fazliddin Kurbanov, 36, admitted making and using a prison-made knife to attack the warden in 2016 and attempting to slit his throat. The warden suffered serious injuries in the attack but has since recovered. (INT)
