Marijuana taxes flowing into Sacramento SACRAMENTO – (INT) – Cannabis tax revenue in California is growing.
State officials reported Wednesday that tax revenue from the cannabis industry the second quarter of the year totaled $74.2 million. That marked a gain of $13.3 million over the first quarter. The totals include cultivation, excise and sales taxes. The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration said the rise shows the compliance trend is growing. Medicinal cannabis is exempt from sales tax if the purchaser holds a valid Medical Marijuana Identification card. Story Date: August 26, 2018
