Holy Fire flickers out, clean-up continues
LAKE ELSINORE – (INT) – Street sweepers are swinging into action to clean the city’s streets of the ash that reigned down during the Holy Fire.

Layers of ash accumulated on streets, gutters and sidewalks during the height of the fire and must be removed.

Health officials and local experts are calling for its immediate removal. Street sweepers will be key to keep the ash from spreading.

The clean-up will continue daily through Monday afternoon.

The targeted streets stretch from Weirick Road on the north, Railroad Canyon Road to the south, and roads west of Interstate 15 to the foothills, including several foothill community roads. Streets may have to be swept more than once.

The sweepers use high-efficiency vacuum filtration systems.

Residents are being asked to find alternate parking and those with heart or lung conditions should remain indoors for a half-hour after the sweeping.
