Summertime job losses mount up INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – The region’s labor market has been a balancing act this summer.
A loss of 13,200 jobs from June to July was mostly in educational services. Several other sectors tried to make-up the difference including construction, business services, leisure and hospitality, trade, transportation, and utilities and manufacturing. Those shifts brought down July’s Inland Empire unemployment to 4.6%. The State Department of Employment estimated that 93,500 people were looking for work in July, slightly less than in June.
