Third skydiver fatality in a year at Perris airport
PERRIS – (INT) – Another skydiver has been killed in a jump at the Perris Valley Airport.

The coroner says that Peter Zimmerli, 68, lost his life Tuesday. The Staten Island, New York man was declared dead just minutes after landing near the airport.

Zimmerli had jumped at Skydive Perris, but details of the incident were not immediately released.

Last January, a Canadian skydiver was killed when he landed on the roof of a residence near the airport. The incident occurred during the Wide Open Wingsuit Series Championships.

A year ago, a skydiver jumped from a hot air balloon and was killed.
