SOUTHLAND – (INT) – Climatologists have cranked up to 80 percent chances of a moist, but weak El Nino forming this winter.

It could mean at least normal precipitation for California.

The Climate Prediction Center forecast a 60 percent chance the El Nino will continue in the spring.

The outlook is based on rising sea surface temperatures in four regions of the equatorial Pacific Ocean.
