HEMET – (INT) – Another police chase has ended in deadly consequences for a suspect who exchanged gunfire with an officer.

According to a police account, an officer had tried to make an enforcement stop but the driver continued to a parking lot of an apartment building on South Yale Street Sunday morning.

A male passenger bailed out, ran into one of the apartment units and began shooting from a bathroom. An officer returned fire fatally wounding the gunman.

The identity of the individual was not immediately released. No officers were injured
