Police shootings sending more suspects to the morgue INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Law-breakers are becoming more inclined to settle their differences with police at the point of a gun and more frequently at the climax to a chase or a barricade situation.
In the latest incident, a truck thief lived to be questioned about a hair-raising, bullet-punctuated chase from Ontario to Jurupa Valley early Monday. Wounded, the Pomona man eventually gave up after driving the wrong way on the Route 60 Freeway. During the prior week, a suspect involved in a traffic stop lost a deadly gun duel with police in a Hemet apartment after a pursuit. Last Tuesday in Corona, a rifleman suspected of shooting a woman in an incident of domestic violence confronted police and was shot dead. So far this year, local authorities have reported at least 18 fatal officer-involved shootings in the Inland Empire. Story Date: November 14, 2018
