Jobless rate remains at modern-day low
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – The region’s hi-flying economy has charged into the 4th Quarter with the lowest unemployment rate in decades.

The State Employment Development Department (EDD) reports that October’s rate of 4.1% was unchanged from September.

Over the past 12-months, job growth in Riverside-San Bernardino counties was estimated at 2.5 percent with the addition of more than 37,000 jobs. Government, which includes schools, registered the largest year-over increase.

There were notable employment gains in professional and business services (up 8,400), trade, transportation, and utilities (up 7,300), and leisure and hospitality (up 6,200).

None of the employment sectors recorded job losses, the EDD reported Friday.
