Coroner identifies lane-splitting motorcyclist TEMECULA – (INT) – Another deadly motorcycle accident has renewed discussion about California’s lane-splitting law, the only one of its kind in the country.
California Highway Patrol officers say a motorcyclist was negotiating his way between lanes of the crowded I-15 Friday. The motorcycle and an SUV side-swiped each other sending the motorcycle into the rear of a big rig and ejecting the victim into an adjoining northbound lane. The 33-year-old motorcyclist from Murrieta, Gary Wilson, was killed. There were no other injuries. The incident gridlocked the freeway commute through Temecula late Friday afternoon.
