New figures attest to the importance of ONT
ONTARIO – (INT) – Ontario International Airport (ONT) is likely to handle 5-million passengers this year for the first time in a decade.

Over the first 10 months of the year, there was a 13% increase from the same period last year. The number of domestic passengers grew by more almost 12% while international passenger volume climbed 54%.

More airlines are offering more options in 2019.

Southwest Airlines will launch service from ONT to San Francisco International Airport with four round trips a day beginning next June. Southwest will also add a third flight to Denver International Airport Monday through Friday. Delta Air Lines recently announced plans for daily service between ONT and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport beginning in April.

More passengers aren’t the only reason for ONT’s growth.
Ontario’s air cargo business also continues to grow at a double-digit pace. ONT is at the center of the largest outgoing freight market in the United States. According to a recent report by FreightWaves, the Ontario market has surpassed Atlanta for the No. 1 position.
